In addition to the overall information architecture, we mapped out the five most important user stories our initial investigation revealed. These flows show the path a user would take to achieve each specific task. This helped clarify how all the screens were connected and helped identify missing screens that were necessary to achieve these tasks.
We determined these task flows from the user stories that were the original basis of our project. Below is an example of a task flow that our team created, where each task is followed by how to accomplish it using the screens we would have available in the app.
Having this structure to each task flow helped us with our next task, creating the prototypes. Now that we had our initial sketches and our task flows on what screens we would need in the end, we had a more solid idea on how the overall app would look and how the user would use various stages of the app to help them stay safer while walking around Seattle University.
